We're all fine here....

Well, I've gone and done it. I'm coaching Whitney's soccer team, and I have NO idea what I'm doing! It's been a learning experience, especially when we play games. I basically let the other coach call the shots, because, as I said, I have NO idea! Whitney is having fun though. She likes to play, but she's easily distracted. She's the one on the team that will stop and look at the butterflies, watch the other kids, or start talking to other people. She likes the game, but she likes everything else, and I do mean everything else, too. I'll be posting pictures soon, our team pictures should be done in a week or two. I'm actually having fun doing this. Sawyer is insanely jealous as he wants to play so bad! I think he is going to be very good at sports, he can already kick the ball better than his sister. He is getting so tall! Everytime I turn around he is growing out of his clothes! Good thing it's summer and I don't really care what he wears.
We went to Whitney's Kindergarten introduction meeting the other day. It was good to learn about everything she will be learning when she goes to school. By the end of the school year the Kindergartners are writing in full sentences, reading, and doing simple math problems! When I went we had half day with a nap and snack! Wow, times have changed. Whitney is up to it though. She's close to being able to read and can already write easy words. She's my little smarty!
McKay is also getting huge! He has lost some of his chunkiness, but still has a fat little face. He is talking now, although not very well. He mostly yells all the time, at anyone who happens to be in his space, way, room, or house for that matter. He still moves the chairs around my kitchen and helps himself to whatever food happens to be within his reach. The other day we were at the grocery store and he grabbed a pack of bubblegum off the shelf, opened it, and ate two pieces before I noticed. I'll say here that I'm not a mom that doesn't pay attention, he's just fast and sneeky! We've decided that McKay will never starve!
Ryan and I have been working dilligently in the yard getting it ready for grass, and today we finally planted! It's going to be so great to have a backyard finally. Last week we took a break and went out to the "testicle festival", yes that is it's name, and watched to little rodeo they put on every year. Ryan took Metz and did a little team penning with his co-worker Matt. They would've done really well, except that Metz blew up right at the start and that took some of their time. She was bucking and rearing like a 2 year old! After that little show, the kid's games started. First there was a bunny chase. The kids were divided into age groups. Each group got the chance to chase 2 bunnies. So, basically, there were 2 rabbits and 400 kids all in the arena at one time. Anyway, if the kid caught a bunny they got to keep it. Well, Sawyer caught a bunny. Now we have a rabbit. He's actually pretty cute and he loves the kids. He's just a baby though, and already pretty big. Whitney and Sawyer named him Watson. Don't ask me why, as I have no idea! They came up with it on their own.
Well, that's enough of my droning on... hope everyone is well!

Just a quick note

Hi everyone! It's been awhile, so I thought I would write a quick blurp about what's going on. I'm getting ready to take finals, ugh! The kids are great! Whitney did great at registration and is all geared up to go to school. I can't believe she's already 5! She also got her first loose tooth this week and is very excited!

Sawyer started the tractor the other day and managed to drive accross the backyard. This was very scary for us, (Ryan was able to stop it in time), but Sawyer thought it was the greatest thing since egg-salad sandwiches! He was smiling and thought he was something else. The bad part was that the bucket was down and he made a huge divet all along the yard!

McKay is up to no good, as always. He has figured out that he can push our dining room chairs up to the cabinets/counters and help himself to whatever food he happens to find. The other morning he dumped an entire box of Cheerios and a bag of Marshmellow Mateys out on the floor! I love waking up to a ginormous mess of cereal! Oh well, he had fun.
We took the horses for a ride on Thursday. They did great! I found 4 antler sheds, but Ryan found one really big one. It looks a lot like the deer he got last year ( a trophy which was entered in the Boone and Crockett's all time record books). So, that's pretty much it. Here some pictures of my kids for this past summer, I will get new ones posted soon.

What a long week!

Hi all, just wanted to do a quick update on our week. It's been long! We've been diligently working on finishing Whitney and Sawyer's closets, which seems to be taking a long time. I've been busy with the preschool, callings, and class. We've decided to open a preschool in the fall here in our home. I have a lot to do to prepare for that, including paperwork, working on the basement and preparing our curiculum. Whitney is getting ready for Kindergarten registration in 3 weeks. It's a pretty big deal out here, they can actually deny your child entry into the school if the school feels they are not ready. Yesterday my van officially gave up on us. It completely stopped shifting! This is so exciting(not)! So, now I'm driving around the new truck with strick cleanliness orders. Tonight was our Relief Society birthday party. I'm on the enrichment commitee, so I had to come early and stay late for set up/clean up. It turned out really well. We had a nice pasta bar, which I made some shrimp alfredo for. We then played a little get to know you game which everyone seemed to enjoy. I just finished midterms in school. They went great! I sure enjoy my anatomy class, not so much my computer science class. Hope everyone's week was great! I'll be posting pictures soon!

Wow, I actually did it!

Well, I thought I would get on the band wagon and create on of these, especially since I'm terrible at email! We are doing great, just trying to survive the snow here in March. Tara, your recipe sounds fabulous! I have one for you, and anyone else that is interested.
French Onion Pork Chops

4 chops
2 onions, thinly sliced
2 T worchestershire sauce
1 pkg stuffing, prepared
1 c mozarella cheese, shredded

Cook chops with onions in oil, until chops are done. Remove pork chops from pan, add worchestershire sauce, and cook until onions are brown. Put chops back in, top with onions. Put stuffing around chops, top with mozarella cheese, cover, and cook until melted. That's it! Enjoy!
